Sou Professor Coordenador do Departamento de Matemática do Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Portugal, onde leciono nos cursos Licenciatura e Mestrado sendo responsável por disciplinas como: probabilidades e estatística, estatística bayesiana, séries temporais e matemática computacional. Sou investigador integrado do Centro de Matemática e Aplicações da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVAMath) e do Centro de Investigação da Academia Militar (CINAMIL), investigador colaborador do Centro de Estatística e Aplicações da Universidade de Lisboa (CEAUL) e do Military Readiness Lab (MRLab).  Tenho um doutoramento em Estatística e Gestão de Risco da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, um mestrado em Probabilidade e Estatística e uma licenciatura em Matemática, ambos da Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. Sou membro do grupo de investigação Nova Health e do grupo de investigação de Treino Físico Militar. Estou atualmente envolvido em vários projetos de investigação e oriento vários alunos. As minhas áreas de interesse de investigação são estatística espacial, estatística bayesiana, econometria espacial, análise de dados, modelação e inferência estatística com aplicações nas ciências militares, médicas e ambientais.

I am an Associate Professor at Department of Mathematics, Higher Institute of Engineering, Lisbon, Portugal, where I teach in graduate and undergraduate level courses being responsible for subjects such as  probability and statistics, Bayesian Statistics, time series,  and computational mathematics. I am Integrated researcher of the Mathematics and Applications Centre of the Nova University of Lisbon  (NOVAMath) and of the Military Academy Research Centre (CINAMIL),  and a researcher member of the  Centre for Statistics and Applications, University of Lisbon (CEAUL) and of the Military Readiness Lab (MRLab). I hold a PhD in Statistics and Risk Management from Nova University of Lisbon,  a master degree in Probability and Statistics and a Mathematics degree, both from Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. I am member of the research group Nova Health and research group of Military Physical Training, involved in various research projects and supervising several students. My research areas of interest are Spatial statistics, Bayesian statistics, spatial econometrics, Data analysis, modelling and statistical inference with applications in the military, medical and environmental sciences.
