The operations management is oriented to the management of resources and activities responsible for the production and supply of products and services to customers.
With this curricular unit it is intended that students gain knowledge in the area of operations management through the acquisition of skills in operations that have a profound effect on productivity and in the quality of products and services.
Upon completion of this curricular unit the students should acquire a basic understanding of the role of operations management within an organization and how organizations can achieve competitive advantage through effective and efficient operations management. The students must be able to recognize and identify key concepts in operations management and apply problem solving techniques and tools to the analysis of operational issues.
