Rita Pereira holds a Bachelor and Licenciatura degree in Electrical Engineering – Industrial Automation and Power Systems from Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa. Holds a MSc in Electrical Engineering and Computers from Instituto Superior Técnico and holds a PhD in Mechatronic Engineering and Energy from Évora University.

She is Adjoint Professor in Electrical Engineering Department of Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, lecturing Electric Machines Complements, Intelligent Systems, Electrical Energy Storage, Electric Machines I and Electric Machines II.

She is a researcher at LCEC – Low Carbon Energy Conversion in ISEL, a researcher at ISRC – Interdisciplinary Studies Research Center and belongs to SPEE (Portuguese Society for Engineering Education). Is also reviewer of IEEE - Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologías de Aprendizaje, Energy, Buildings, Sustainability and is reviewer board member in Applied Sciences journal.
