Teresa Melo Quinteiro has a degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, a master's degree in Mathematics (algebra area) from the same faculty and a PhD in Mathematics (algebra area) from the Nova School of Science & Technology.

She is an Adjunct Professor in the Departmental Area of Mathematics at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (Engineering School).

In addition to her activity at ISEL, she is a member of the CMA - Center for Mathematics and Applications of the New School of Science & Technology where she develops research in Semigroup Theory (Algebra and Logic Group).
