Tiago Castela has a degree in Radiology and a master's degree in Radiation Applied to Health Technologies with specialization in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, by the Lisbon School of Health Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, he is also a Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer certified by the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety.

Invited Assistant Professor in the Departmental Area of Chemical Engineering at Lisbon Superior Engineering Institute (ISEL), teaching in collaboration, the curricular unit of Medical Imaging Technology.

In addition to his activity at ISEL, since 2010 he has been Radiologic Technologist at the Hospital da Luz - Lisbon Imaging Center, where he also collaborates with several research projects in clinical Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
