Intended learning outcomes

The course provides a comprehensive overview of the main applications of hydroinformatics for smart water systems. It focuses primarily on state-of-the-art analysis, simulation and optimization techniques applied to water systems, with special emphasis on water management challenges at both the urban and watershed scale.
Students will develop a solid knowledge of the fundamental principles of hydroinformatics, including the basics of hydraulic and hydrological modelling, collection, processing, and visualization of data collected using different tools, and optimization of water systems.
At the end of the course, students should be able to face practical challenges in hydraulics and water resources, contributing to a sustainable and intelligent solution to the problems associated with water management.
