To learn the use of diverse scientific programs that process and represent data.
Have the capacity of solving connections that interface equipment and programs.
Know the format of standard file representation of data used for import and export.
Gain the skill of building small programs to solve particular problems in the biological area.

After approval in this syllabus the student should be able to:

1. Develop and understand programs written in MatLab.
2. Develop and analyse programs in Python.
3. Read and write files (csv and xml) and import and export them into Matlab.
4. Understand the UTF-8 character code representation.
5. Establish connections through the GPIB bus using Python.
6. Use R to read csv data files and make graphical plots.
