Intended learning outcomes

After approval in the course unit, the student should have the ability to:

  1. Understanding the concept of probability and its axioms.
  2. Calculate simple and conditioned probabilities using the basic laws of probabilities and combinatorial calculus.
  3. Apply the concepts of probabilities in the evaluation of situations of uncertainty.
  4. Apply the acquired knowledge in discrete and continuous random variables in the analysis and resolution of practical problems.
  5. Identify the theoretical models studied in real situations.
  6. Model and simulate real situations using the theoretical models studied.
  7. Apply the knowledge acquired in Bayesian networks.
  8. Solve and simulate problems using R software.
