Students who successfully complete this course unit are able to:

1. Know the basic methods used in image processing.
2. Know simple techniques of computer vision and its connection to the area of machine learning.
3. Understand the importance of image processing and computer vision in the development of biomedical applications, namely, those involving operations of feature extraction and pattern recognition in biomedical signals.
4. Developing small projects using integrative methods of image processing and computer vision on a selected application area.
