By the end of the course, the students are expected to:

1. Understanding the concepts of heritage, patology, working life and durability.
2. Understanding construction pathology in relation to historical period of construction.
3. Understand the basic concepts of inspection of structures;
4. Ability to identify the most common defects for different types of materials and structures
5. Ability to diagnose a structure based on information gathered
6. Knowledge of various experimental methods to supplement information gained during inspections
