Intended learning outcomes
After approval in the course, students should possess the ability to:
- Characterize the major types of pollutants in different media (air, water and soil), know their origins and understand the fundamental principles of their transport in the environment.
- Know and understand different technologies and biotechnologies used in the treatment and remediation of contaminated environments and in the reduction / elimination of discharges of pollutants into the environment.
- Recognize and identify the advantages of biotechnological processes in the context of sustainable development of human societies.
- Master the principles of operation of technological and biotechnological processes applied in environmental remediation and prevention technologies, identify their design parameters and apply them in solving specific problems.
