On January 30, 2025, the swearing-in ceremony of the new Board of Directors of the Academic Federation of the Polytechnic of Lisbon (FAIPL), now led by student Jaden Gomes, took place in the Noble Hall of the Services of the Presidency of the Polytechnic of Lisbon.
In his speech, the student of the School of Social Communication (ESCS) and Alumni of the School of Education of Lisbon (ESELx), Jaden Gomes highlighted that this day of celebration also represents a renewal of FAIPL's commitment to the future. He thanked his colleagues for their efforts and said that FAIPL should be more than an intermediary between students and institutions, taking an active role in change and building a more united community.Addressing the new team, the IPL Student Ombudsman, Professor Trindade Nunes, reinforced the importance and responsibility of FAIPL in representing and supporting students and wished them success.
The President of the Polytechnic of Lisbon, Professor Elmano Margato, underlined the relevance of the role played by FAIPL in defending the interests of students and thanked the work of student Tiago Diniz, highlighting his dedication and ability to keep the activity of the Academic Federation alive, always finding solutions to the challenges that arose. Addressing the newly elected president of FAIPL, the President of IPL congratulated him on his election and recognized his skills and dynamism, encouraging him to act with an open mind, verticality, hard work and dexterity in representing his colleagues.
With this new leadership, FAIPL reaffirms its role as an active voice of the students of the Polytechnic of Lisbon, promoting the union and strengthening of the associative movement.
