Intended learning outcomes

  • Know the concepts of maintenance, conservation and rehabilitation, the main charts of the architectural heritage and the framework of the interventions.
  • Know the life cycle of buildings.
  • Acquire knowledge in the nomenclature of old and new buildings, in the identification of their construction processes, materials and typical anomalies and in the generic application of conservation, rehabilitation and reinforcement methods.
  • Obtain skills that allow a historical understanding of urban construction in order to intervene in the formal and functional reformulation of buildings according to architectural regulatory requirements, in passive fire safety, as well as respecting environmental issues and a construction process based on sustainability principles. Develop a critical spirit about the importance of legislation and taxation instruments in rehabilitation and their legal and regulatory framework.
