Angela Martins Nunes was born in 1973 in Lisbon, she is married and a mother of two.

She holds a degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, a Master's degree in Materials Physical Chemistry from Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon.

She is an adjunct professor in the Departmental Area of Chemical Engineering at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, usually teaches Curricular Units in the Section of Physical Chemistry and Analysis and is an integrated member of the Center of Structural Chemistry (CQE) of University of Lisbon, where she develops research work in the field of Heterogeneous Catalysis.

She is a member of the Order of Engineers.
