António Oliveira is licensed in Chemical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Technical University of Lisbon, a master's degree in Economics and Management of Science and Technology from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon and a PhD Course in Climate Change and Development Policies Sustainable (school part, involving the Faculdade de Ciências, Instituto Superior Técnico e Universidade Nova de Lisboa). Title of Specialist in the area of Safety Engineering by the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon.

Is Invited Adjunct Professor in the Departmental Area of Chemical Engineering at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, he usually teaches Curricular Units in the Management Section. The areas of interest involve technological development and innovation, including public policies focusing on industrial competitiveness, the internal market, digital transformation, circular economy, climate change, sustainability, social responsibility and sustainable development.

In addition to his activity at ISEL, he is Head of the Enterprise Policy Department at the Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, I.P. (IAPMEI).

He is a Senior Member of the Portuguese Order of Engineers (OE), Coordinator of the Specialization in Safety Engineering at OE, Member of the Board of the Portuguese Business Ethics Association, Member of the Board of the Alliance for the ODS Portugal and Ambassador for the ODS 9-Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
