João Cardoso has a degree in mechanical engineering, thermodynamics branch, on the Instituto Superior Técnico of the Universidade de Lisboa.

Specialist in air conditioning by the OE - Ordem dos Engenheiros and by the IPL - Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa.

He is an assistant professor at the ISEL - Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, in the ADEM - Área Departamental de Engenharia Mecânica, teaching Air Conditioning, Utility Installations and Renewable Energy Applications, for which he is responsible of the latest.

In addition to his activity at ISEL, he is a member of ASHRAE - American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, of EFRIARC - Associação Portuguesa dos Engenheiros de Frio Industrial e Ar Condicionado, of which he has been president, and OE.

He founded and has been managing an engineering office in the area of ​​Utility Installations in buildings.
