Intended learning outcomes

The main intended learning outcomes for this course are:

  • Solid understanding of the concepts, principles, and scientific processes governing technological and biological risks.
  • To achieve proficiency in identifying technological and biological hazards and dangerous events, in assessing the associated risks, and in measures for their management (including information and communication).
  • Communication and collaboration: Develop skills for collaboration and communication with various key actors, including agents responsible for risk management, civil protection teams, emergency teams, affected communities, policymakers, regulators, engineers, scientists, and the general population (preventively and didactically) in the management of technological and biological risks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify, analyze, and address complex challenges related to the assessment and management of technological and biological risks
